happy camper
one of channing's favorite tv shows...ok, her FAVORITE tv show....is max and ruby. there have been a few episodes where the little bunnies go camping. they have their tents, sleeping bags and make smores. channing has been very interested ever since watching these and has been asking to "go camp". we have been talking about taking her this summer so, we thought it was the perfect time to introduce her to some of the nuances. luc bought her an adorable kiddo tent from rei and we got a larger family tent last weekend from costco. the two of them went upstairs to set it up and realized it was way too big for our family room. instead, luc got out our tiny backpacking tent (thank goodness we got that larger family tent for all of us!) and set it up for her instead. for 4 days now, we have spent almost the entire day playing in and around that tent. she is so excited. she crawls in and out of her sleeping bag, wants to have her lunch "tent picnic" style and has hidden lots of little toys inside the interior pockets. it's been a hit. now...if only the weather would cooperate and get warm enough for us to make an actual trip of it!
