5 years

i am thankful everyday to have the most loving, understanding and talented husband who makes me laugh, holds my hand and gives the best hugs.  in a lot of ways, we are very similar and in a lot of ways, we are very different.  we balance each other.  i love him dearly and look forward to every new day i get to spend with him and our beautiful little bird. it's hard to believe that 5 years ago we were fortunate enough to take the most beautiful trip, with our closest friends and family, and have such an amazing wedding adventure.  we were married in maui, in makena, on a tiny little beach.  it was beautiful and romantic and more than i ever imagined it could be.  we had a traditional hawaiian wedding ceremony with beautiful dancers and lovely guitar music strumming throughout the ceremony.  our flowers were gorgeous and i adored getting traditional wedding henna on my hands and arms...a ceremony i shared with my mom (who got her own henna as well!).  we spent our evening, after the wedding, at a wonderful luau and headed off to molokai for a week of quiet beauty for our honeymoon.  i will never forget how amazing it was and can't wait to get back soon.  it is one of our favorite places on this earth.

we planned our wedding through a perfect paradise wedding.  it truly exceeded every expectation i had and we did it all from colorado.  kelly is amazing!  in fact, when you visit her site, the song playing is the song we selected for my "walk down the isle" (sung by this actual artist, while playing his guitar) which actually consisted of me walking down an old stone set of steps, through beautiful flowers and vines, and onto the soft sandy beach...all to this beautiful song which still brings tears to my eyes!  amazing...

yes, you can send coconuts through the mail! (sorry for the poor picture quality on this one...these were our wedding invitations)

and, here's the big day.....

yes...some couple snuck over and sat on the beach watching our wedding...i was so mad they were in some of our photos!  (see them over there on the far right!!??!)

this is my favorite photo....ever!

we used the surf board as our "guest book".  everyone signed it and we shipped it home!
