today

today, by noon, i have already: been woken up at the crack of dawn (the bird has been waking up at 5:30am for the past week!) | made waffles | sang "happy happy birthday" with chica | had 2 chai lattes and a basket of raspberries | been on a long walk | watched 6 deer grazing in a neighbor's yard | played in the sand | played in the dirt | cleaned up the bird's first fat lip - she took a fall on the sidewalk and smacked her top lip.  it bled for awhile and then puffed up like she'd had a lip injection :( | played with a ball | watered the flowers | scrambled an egg with cheese, garlic and herbs | went for a bike ride | folded laundry | sang and danced to elton john | stacked blocks | read several books | watched for squirrels from the bedroom window | tried to take a nap when channing went down for hers, but was bothered by the neighbor's super annoying barking dog | received emails from 3 students already unhappy with the fall's school schedule | said a few curse words to myself | enjoyed the silence of  a house with a sleeping baby

a very long morning indeed ...
