santa monica
luc and i took our very first vacation, without channing, a couple of weeks ago. it was also the first time we have ever been away from her at night. my parents kindly stayed at our home with her and they had a blast. luc and i also very much enjoyed our little bit of time away. unfortunately, we arrived in california and realized we both forgot to grab the camera so...iphone pics are all we have. we ate lots of great food, enjoyed staying at a fancy hotel, relaxed on the beach, took a few naps and even watched a movie! we loved exploring santa monica and venice. there is some amazing modern architecture and i couldn't stop snapping photos of all the beautiful succulents growing in everyone's yards.
my favorite things from this trip: eating at gjelina, shopping at urbanic, visiting abbot kinney blvd., trying out several fun food trucks (my favorite being the massive ice cream sandwich i enjoyed from coolhaus...i enjoyed a sandwich made of a olive oil/pine nut cookies with mascarpone cheese/fig vinaigrette ice cream...OH MAN!) and riding the wheel at the santa monica pier with my love....taking a nap in the afternoons wasn't bad either!
