nut

one of my favorite "conversations" happened with channing the other night.  she was acting silly so luc called her a nut.  she recognizes the word nut as something you eat so she immediately responded with "you are a lemon".  we died laughing.  then the bantering went on for almost 30 minutes. "you are a strawberry" "you are a kiwi" "you are a banana".  i know, you probably just had to be there.  we played back and forth with each other trying to think up foods to call one another until we laughed so hard we cried.  

i love moments like this where channing communicates with us in her own way, playing a game and showing us just how clever and creative she is.  this little girl is growing up fast and i am trying to savor every single minute of it! 

​here's the "nut" playing outside on the patio wednesday. it was chilly out so, she picked out her own sweatshirt and put on her own socks and hat to "add layers" she told me.
