homemade donuts

​i love our new babycakes donut maker.  so easy and fun and makes just the right sized donut.  yesterday, we tested it out by using a 'simple mornings' blueberry streussel muffin mix...i really to make something from scratch, out of the cookbook that cake with the donut maker, but i didn't have everything in the pantry and these mixes are great and fast to prepare...they have very simple, basic ingredients and are great to have on hand to use in a pinch.  the donuts turned out great!

​i put a little streusel filling in each donut cavity before putting in the mix and then sprinkle a little more on top, before cooking.  it adds a little sweet crunch to each donut.
