day in photos
we have been having lots of fun while nanna visits this week. and we have been VERY busy. i kind of feel like a mad woman, when she visits, because i am trying to take advantage of the time she spends with channing so that i can get lots and lots of things done that are normally tough to do on my own. i think we are all pooped! today, we have celebrated june 1st (also known as donut day, if you didn't know) by making blueberry donut holes, done lots of laundry - which always includes the bird stealing the dryer sheets to "clean" everything she can get her hands on (yes, she uses the dryer sheets like a rag and wipes everything imaginable down. i have no clue where she gets this from as i hate to clean! she's been doing this forever), started planning my packing for our upcoming first big trip as a family - to chicago and michigan, taken a couple of beautiful walks, finally painted my toenails, hung the mirror i bought yesterday for the bird's room, got some fun art supplies from target (their kid made modern line is fantastic!) and enjoyed our last full day with nanna.
here she is, "cleaning" with her dryer sheet...
and doing more cleaning with the dryer sheet...
and then...our day took a turn for the worse. around 2:30, the bird got really listless and droopy. i thought that our transition from 2 naps to 1 was probably getting to her. however, earlier in the day, she had also taken a pretty hard little fall onto the base of our office chair and smacked her head, right above her eye. she had cried for a bit but them seemed fine and even took a great nap. but, we were also afraid that she might have a slight concussion. after calling our pediatrician, she recommended going ahead and letting her sleep as long as i stayed with her so, we went upstairs for a mini nap and she was out immediately. after waking her up (so that we didn't ruin bedtime) she still wasn't acting herself. she would eat, didn't want to take a bath and started crying non-stop. this has never happened and i was really worried about her! especially with her bath, she will always get excited about a bath. she has been signing "sleepy" really well lately and kept telling me that she was sleepy so, she and i laid down in our bed at 5:30 and once again she was out. the catch was that she was asleep on me. and every time i tried to shift her off, she started crying again. so, there we were for about an hour with her asleep on my chest, just like she did for the first 2 months of her life. i felt terrible that she wasn't feeling well but loved being able to snuggle up with her. i did finally get her to sleep on the bed next to me and we stayed like that all night long.
