a day in photos

i haven't had much time to post this week...it's been a little hectic for some reason.  and even this "day in photos" post is actually a combination of yesterday and today's events.  we've had a busy couple of days.  yesterday (friday) we had a fun playdate in the morning, another after naptime and then we drove about 30 minutes across town (in rush hour) to pick up channing's new surprise...an outdoor playhouse.  we bought it on craigslist and it was in perfect condition.  the previous owners used it in their basement so it literally was like brand new.  luckily, they hadn't actually ever screwed it together so, we got the house apart and somehow managed to load it in the back of my volvo.  i had to drive slowly back across town, since my car hatch was open and held partially closed by a bungee.  but, we managed to get it home and put together and channing played in it until about 5 minutes before bedtime.  she ate dinner there. she was in heaven. 

we decided to take advantage of her busy day (and the fact that she was worn out) and move forward with transitioning her crib into a toddler bed.  the front panel of the bed comes off and a shorter panel of rails goes on.  channing wanted to help so, we grabbed her toy toolbox and let her pretend to saw off the rails.  she was extremely excited and hopped right in.  she slept there, with no problem, from 7:30pm-7:00am.  she also napped today like a champ!  i am sooooo relieved. ​ she seems very proud of her new big girl bed. 

as soon as she woke up this morning, she asked to read in bed (which was so lovely!) and then wanted to head out to play in the new playhouse.  we were literally outside all day long except for naptime.  ​

as an extra little treat, we went to fargo's pizza tonight.  it's a quirky little pizza spot here in colorado springs.  they have a player piano, girls dressed up in old time saloon costumes and little arcade with a photo booth (my favorite).  it has been a busy but wonderful past couple of days! ​
