6 year anniversary

on this day, 6 years ago, we were married on a beautiful little beach in maui.  it was an absolutely magical experience.  we planned the entire thing from colorado (having never been to maui), invited a small handful of family and friends and had a traditional hawaiian ceremony on a beach in makena.  it was so easy to plan the entire thing...we used kelly with a perfect paradise wedding.  she would send me websites and i would make selections (for the flowers, for the music, for the photographer).  so easy.  the really fun thing was, i had no idea how it was all going to come together and i could not have even imagined it would be as beautiful as it turned out!!  

that day was filled with an amazing sunrise, yoga on the patio, makeup, hair, pineapple eating and lot of laughing while getting ready for our afternoon ceremony.  i slept at the condo my parents were staying at and didn't see luc until the ceremony.  the day before, my mom and i had traditional hawaiian henna drawn on our arms, which was one of my very favorite things we have ever done together! 

our ceremony began with the blowing of the conch shell and an ancient hawaiian processional, a guitarist playing and hawaiian dancers on the beach.  i walked down a long stone path and set of stairs to see luc standing there on the beach in a ring of tropical flowers...it was truly magical. 

the ceremony itself was of hawaiian traditional, complete with the exchanging of floral leis and hawaiian drumming and hula before our vows.  i could not have asked for a more amazing experience.  

afterwards, we all went to a luau for dinner...another fabulous experience!  i will treasure this day forever and could honestly relive it over and over again. !!
